I was wondering if the Maintainers have thought about officially activating themselves to do what seems to be exactly a job for them:
In a few days OpenUru will have a working Shard for testing new features (and maybe Ages in the future) that will probably end in Cyan's MOULa server. It seems the exact opportunity the GoMa could have been waiting for starting again their activities.

I've just logged in to the shard after a couple of hiccups with missing dlls (which I suspect is more Microsoft than anything else).

The forum is here for discussion and coordination, for example if anyone wants to organise multiplayer tests and the like. We can set up a subforum too if that will be helpful.

The shard is now open to all. Here's rarified's post explaining how to access the shard and its purpose: Accessing the OpenUru.org Minkata Test Shard

In addition, OpenUru is looking for JIRA/Helpdesk Volunteers:
JWPlatt wrote:
Greetings,

We are providing ridiculously simple help desk support software, "Hesk," for those who are not acquainted with JIRA, our development tracking system on Foundry. You can see and use it at http://support.OpenUru.org. Please see this post for more info about reporting bugs for our test shard.

We need volunteers to review bug reports and feature requests from this basic ticket system, then consolidate support requests into unique issues and enter them into our JIRA tracking system on Foundry. We expect all issue reports to eventually end up submitted as a JIRA issue, even if they do not start there. (For those who are familiar with JIRA, please use it directly to save time and effort.)

Experience with JIRA is a plus. No experience is necessary if you are an independent person who is eager to learn.

We would really like to give a call out to any Guild of Maintainers members who remain active or would like to reactivate for this purpose. We need you. But this offer is certainly extended to anyone, whoever you are and wherever you hang out.

Please let us know you are interested by signing up and listing any qualifications in this thread.

(Emphasis added.)

So... if you want to do something more than merely lurk, here's a real opportunity!

Yikes, D'Lanor...

Only five on my Mac, and they are mostly eating up the Parallels/Win7 VM area.

I am having Norton Internet Security promblems with Minkata launcher. I had to turn off Norton to get the update. Once I was in my relto, I quit and turned on Norton. Tried to launch program and it deleted the launcher. The only way I can run this is with Norton turned off. Any one with a solution to this. Thank you.

Edit: I got around it. I told Norton insight to trust the Uru Launcher and it loaded no problem now. Thanks anyway.
Just in case someone else has this problem. :D :D :D :D

Norton is notoriously overprotective (and bloated in my opinion). I've noted your experience and will probably add it to the notes at OU, so others can see the solution :). Since I'm not a Norton user, can you post or send me a note of the steps needed to set the trust in the current version of Norton?

Thanks.

To trust in Norton
Right click on Icon-Uruexplorer and once done do same for Urulauncher
Highlight Norton Internet Security
Pick Norton Insight
On details page, if you see a don't trust, change it to trust.

@4runner - Thanks :) I'll get that added to the knowledge base article on our Support Ticket system! - http://support.openuru.org/knowledgebase.php?article=3
