Shorah!

With the recent guild reorganisation and reallocation of responsibilities among the guild leadership team, the old Creative Department has been renamed the Projects Department.

Projects within the department's remit span both IC (in-cavern or in-character) and OOC (out-of-cavern) activities, so whatever your particular preference there should be something here you will enjoy taking part in.

Current projects can be grouped under the following headings:

Competitions, including involvement in the RAD (rapid age development) competitions as judges or as competitors, and other competitions in which the wider community may take part

GoMa Wiki, including the Books of Commentary and other guild documents, including both IC and OOC material

GoMa Editorial Services, a new project sparked by periodic posts by individuals interested in working on journals and manuals -- the aim is to develop a specialist team of skilled editors and proofreaders. By its nature, much of this will be OOC behind-the-scenes work

GoMa Age-writing, an area for discussing and organising team-based projects such as the University of Ahra Pahts -- again, most of these discussions will be OOC

GoMa in There, projects, activities, guild-related areas, designs created by Maintainers

Cavern Activities, looking back to MOUL and forward to MORE -- this includes a Maintainer-only subforum for discussion of IC activities

If any of these project areas particularly strike you, do post and register your interest. And if you have any other ideas that you think would be worth pursuing, please feel free to suggest away!

Don't forget: there is no problem if you want to be involved in more than one of the guild's departments, just as it is fine to belong to more than one guild. In fact, such cross-membership can only strengthen the community and build links between us all.

I'm looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together as a guild.

Go GoMa!

I've already expressed an interest in the WIKI. I am a good proofreader, so lending a hand in that area would also be something I would be interested in. It is one of my functions where I work for my day job.

without support from Cyan. I'm hesitant to go poking at this too strongly until we get word from Cyan on the Cavern repairs. Thoughts?????

I don't think anything will happen until there is some form of movement in the game. After all this time, we still do not have fan ages or any process to import them. New Cyan content of any sort is extremely remote.

A lot of people have abandoned the game, possibly due to lack of any progress. New people come, but rarely stay for long.

Its a pity, but until something changes, its only going to get worse.

And that is why quite a few people developed parallel projects on alternative platforms, again applying for fan-created art licences from Cyan.

At least they are able to share their projects with a wider public.

For example, the Devokan "Ages" have a following on the OpenSim platform. Initially it was hoped the project could be truly cross-platform. It nearly was, some four years ago, but then even that hopeful episode came to nothing -- like others before, and after.

(PS B'ni, some of the "new" posts are spammers copying phrases from older posts. They initially have plain signatures, but change them later to spam links.)

You should check out the information on the Intangibles Project over at the MOULa forums, content is coming to the servers it may be slow going but it's progressing.

A couple of IC related links regarding the project for you:
